Canadian junior player Ivan Demidov is currently continuing his development in the KHL with St. Petersburg SKA.
However, there is a fear that he will not play much in the KHL this season, as the organization already knows that he will move to North America in a year. For this reason, there has also been talk of releasing him as early as this year and bringing the Canadian into the fold. An unlikely option, but still.
However, we don’t yet know if he could succeed in the NHL at this point. The American League would be a good option and it seems that the 18-year-old forward would have no problem with that, even if his main goal is to play in the Bettman scene.
“I’m not afraid of it,” Demidov said. “My main goal is to play in the NHL. And if that means playing in the AHL, I’m all for it.”

We would of course like to see Demidov enter the NHL through the front door, but for now it remains a gem to be polished. He has all the strengths to excel at the Canadian, but it takes time to develop, which is why you have to be willing to consider the American League option.
Fortunately, the young man is willing to accept all options to become an NHL star one day. That’s exactly the attitude you expect from such a promising prospect as Demidov.
