How many points will Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki collect this season?
According to NHL Network expertsthe two young stars of the Canadiens will achieve personal highlights this year.
The prediction for the captain of the Bleu Blanc Rouge for the 2023-2024 season is 70 points. Last year, Suzuki had 66 points, including 26 goals.
If the team ever stays healthy, it’s not crazy to think Suzuki will ramp up production. He is the only player on the team to play all 82 games last season.
As for Caufield, the experts polled predict he has a 69-point lead and is also “a 40-goal contender.” There’s no doubt that the American will reach that mark if he avoids injury.
In the 2022–23 season, Caufield found the net 26 times in 46 games. The striker had a winning streak of 46 goals throughout the season.
Two other Canadian players received a points lead: Juraj Slafkovsky (46) and Mike Matheson (39) are also listed by NHL Network.
In the Slovak’s case, we attribute this potential performance to the chances “of him playing in the top 6, maybe with front row minutes and significant time on the power play”.
Note that only four CH players’ projections are available. NHL Network relied on its ranking of the top 250 players to predict the number of points for next season.
With Jeff Petry being substituted Tuesday, the Canadiens only have four players on the roster. Cole Caufield (80th), Nick Suzuki (164th), Juraj Slafkovksy (239th) and Mike Matheson (250th) are the Habs’ representatives in the standings.
