Tuesday night’s preseason game between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators left its mark on both sides, but Ottawa fans can be happy about the health of the three stars.
In the cases of Tim Stützle, Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot, the worst was avoided. General Manager Steve Staios said on the podcast Fixated on senators that the three men were all “right.”
It was Stützle’s injury that had the biggest impact on this meeting. The German was hit in the middle of the ice by Arber Xhekaj. He was stunned, got his own stick in the face and retreated to the locker room.

Tkachuk also didn’t finish the game after throwing gloves with the big CH defender.
For Chabot, the team confirmed in the evening that these were preventative measures. The Quebec defender underwent surgery for wrist problems in May.
