July 14th, the Honorable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Lieutenant of Quebec, and Mr. Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications, Minister of Youth, Minister of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and the de l’Outaouais, accompanied by Ms. France -Élaine Duranceau , Minister for Housing and MNA for Bertrand, announced joint financial support from $2,337,300 for the construction and renovation of the Alice Quintal Library in Rawdon.
The project includes the conversion and extension of the old hardware store into a library. This new and modern infrastructure will provide a place for the community to learn, discuss and share cultural experiences.
The Canadian government invests $1,168,650 are also investing through the community, cultural and recreational infrastructure component of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program and the Government of Quebec $1,168,650 in this project from the funding program for the development of cultural infrastructures. The community of Rawdon will contribute up to $3.1 million.
The Government of Quebec’s Cultural Infrastructure Development Program and the Community, Cultural and Recreational Infrastructure component of the federal government’s Investir infrastructure program support projects that improve community and cultural infrastructure and modernize recreational facilities and spaces.
