The Canadian government announced some changes in its diplomacy in a press release from Global Affairs Canada yesterday Monday.
Among these ambassadorial changes in Canadian diplomacy, we mention the appointment of Adler Aristilde as the new Canadian Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe. Diplomat Aristilde, a former Haitian journalist who worked notably at Radio Galaxie, succeeds Christina Buchan, who held the position before him.

Aristilde is preparing to complete her current diplomatic post in Senegal and sees this appointment as Canada’s new ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe as “the greatest honor” of her career as a civil servant.
Adler Aristilde (BA [science politique et gestion des affaires], Concordia University, 2003; MY [politique et administration publiques], Concordia University, 2005) was a journalist and radio host before joining the Canadian civil service, where he worked for more than 18 years. He worked first for Environment Canada (from 2005 to 2007), then for Employment and Social Development Canada (from 2007 to 2010) before joining the Canadian International Development Agency in 2010.
At Global Affairs Canada, Mr. Aristilde worked on strategic policy issues, institutional programming and partnerships, and bilateral and multilateral relationships. Notably, he was Associate Director for Planning and Evaluation (from 2014 to 2017), Associate Director for Business Intelligence (from 2017 to 2018) and Director for Innovation and Impact (from 2018 to 2020).
Most recently, Mr. Aristilde worked abroad as a Political Advisor at the Embassy of Canada in Dakar, where he was responsible for foreign policy affairs relating to Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Cabo Verde.
