Canada begin their Gold Cup against Guadeloupe, who defeated Guyana 2-0 in Tuesday’s qualifiers to qualify for the main round of the CONCACAF tournament.

Canada is 2-1-0 against the Caribbean island.
The Canadian troops then fly to Houston for their other two Group D games. They meet Guatemala (116e) 1um July and Cuba (165e), July 4th.
The 12-team qualifying tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida allows three teams to progress to the Gold Cup main draw. Martinique (unclassified) meets Puerto Rico (166th).e), while Saint Kitts and Nevis (139e) meets French Guiana in the last group matches (not counted).
This is the fifth time that Guadeloupe has qualified for the group stage of the Gold Cup. The competition thus includes 16 teams and the tournament will be played in 14 cities and 15 stadiums. BMO Field is the only Canadian station in the tournament.
The Canadians have not lost at BMO Field since September 2010, a 2-0 loss to Peru. Since then, Canada is 15-0-6 and has bested their opponents at 54-6.
Canada won the Gold Cup once, in 2000. Mexico has eight crowns against seven for the United States, the reigning champions.
