Gabriel Perreault breaks Auston Matthews record

Quebec forward Gabriel Perreault broke Auston Matthews’ record with the prestigious American Development Program (USNTDP).

Former Montreal Canadiens center son Yanic Perreault picked up his 118th point of the season against Norway at the U18 World Cup on Saturday.

Perreault is expected to be selected in the first round of this summer’s National Hockey League draft in Nashville.

In Central Recruiting’s final North American rankings, he ranks 10th behind teammates Oliver Moore (8th), Ryan Leonard (5th) and Will Smith (3rd).

Gabriel wouldn’t be Yanic’s first son to be drafted in the first round, as Jacob was picked 27th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2020.
