On Thursday, September 19, Kids Help Phone (JJE) announced the launch of Resources around mea free tool designed to connect youth, their families, communities, adults and service providers with more than 40,000 trusted programs and services across Canada, coast to coast.

In addition, for the first time in Canada, the Youth Verified Apps Database features clinically approved apps to support the mental health and well-being of young people across Canada.

Resources around me sets a new benchmark for countries seeking to support young people and improve their access to mental health services, said Anil Thapliyal, executive director of eMental Health International Collaborative (eMHIC), in a statement. Resources around me is Canada’s largest navigation system supporting youth.

Each service and support listed in the tool goes through a thorough review process by JJE Information and Guidance staff for effectiveness and validity.

This ensures that detailed information on eligibility, access, contact details and available languages are accurate and reliable.

The issues facing young people with JJE are more complex than ever and are becoming more intense over time. Young people are also seeking support without an adult there for them and need easier ways to find help in their communities and virtually.

With Resources around meJJE has created a more intuitive, accessible and supportive navigation to make it easier for young people to find reliable programs and services that meet their needs.

Resources around me and the database of verified youth apps were developed in collaboration with youth and mental health advocates from across Canada to ensure the process is user-friendly, safe, empowering and allows young people to find the resources that best meet their individual needs.

With the support of the Grocery Foundation, Ontario Ministry of Health, Canada Health Infoway and RBC Future Launch, Kids Help Phone will continue to evolve Resources around mepioneering as a global leader in adolescent mental health services.
