Elite. JL Bourg expands his Canadian interior Isiaha Mike

Following the arrival of great hopeful Zaccharie Risacher and pivot Godwin Omenaka, JL Bourg continues to define the contours of his workforce for next season. The Ain club, semi-finalists of the 2023 play-offs, announced this Sunday the extension of Isiaha Mike’s contract for another year.

The Canadian central defender arrived last summer and has recorded 10.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 26 league games in a 12.2 rating. However, he was sidelined for several weeks due to a foot injury.

As announced a few days ago, Mike is likely to be the only foreign player from last season to continue the adventure in Bresse. Hugo Benitez, Axel Julien, Maxime Courby, Pierre Pelos and Kevin Kokila, who are still under contract, will also remain.

“A real continuity as we like it”

“I am delighted that he has agreed to continue the adventure with us,” said his coach Frédéric Fauthoux on the club’s website. “He’s a very good player with defensive strength, he can defend himself against several types of players.” In attack, Isiaha is complete, both in terms of aggression and shooting. I am very happy to be able to work in continuity. He knows the offensive and defensive principles and is also a great guy. A real continuity as we like it. »
