Félix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov and Vasek Pospisil, along with Alexis Galarneau and Gabriel Diallo, will represent Canada at the Davis Cup Finals to be held November 22-27 in Malaga, Spain.
National team captain Frank Dancevic will therefore be backing practically the same group that allowed the country to qualify, now joined by ‘Shapo’.
In mid-September, the Ahornblatt representatives won matches against Spain and South Korea and reached the final despite a 1-2 defeat by Serbia.
“It is a privilege for our team and our country to be back in the Davis Cup Finals,” Dancevic said in a statement from Tennis Canada. We are also very happy about the return of Denis to our training.
This gives more depth to our team who are very much looking forward to defending the colors of Canada in the finals.”
“Even considering that our excellent squad of players who helped Canada qualify at Valencia will also be back, we have the chance to count on one of the best teams in our history,” he added.

“FAA” is in good shape
The good news for the captain is that he will count on an Auger alias, among others, in full possession of his funds.
The Quebecer won his second career title on the ATP Tour with his triumph in Florence on Sunday and was in the quarterfinals in Antwerp this week.
In qualifying for the Finals he defeated Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, world No. 1, and in the Laver Cup he defeated Serbian Novak Djokovic.
However, the task promises to be difficult for the Canadians. They will meet the Germans in the quarter-finals on November 24th.
If they won, they would face the Americans or the Italians. The other participating nations are Australia, the Netherlands, Croatia and Spain.
