Construction Nivo-Tech wins a major order

SAGUENAY – Construction Nivo-Tech has been awarded a contract valued at nearly $1 million from Construction Défense Canada (CDC). This concerns the repair of military shelters at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Bagotville.

The works include the complete interior renovation of four separate apartments. They are scheduled to start in January and extend over a period of about a year. Two teams are to be mobilized on this construction site, i.e. around six employees of the company plus various subcontractors.

“We’re really fortunate because this type of contract allows us to work through the winter and keeps our teams on the job,” says David Audy, President of Construction Nivo-Tech.

First contract

This is Jonquiéro’s first contract with CDC. Construction Nivo-Tech completed the lengthy accreditation process with the organization last year. It is also the second largest order in the history of the Mittelstand. “It really fits with our plan to push the development of the commercial niche. […] We remain active in residential construction, but have implemented a business strategy to diversify our activities,” explains Mr. Audy.

Remember that David Audy and his wife Mélissa Lapointe did it acquired from Construction Nivo-Tech, in 2019. Since then, the company has nearly doubled its sales. The team has grown from 15 to 25 employees. Ms. Lapointe also won the Business Transfer of the Year award at the 30th Gala des Grands Prix de la Relève d’affaires organized by the Regroupement des jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec (RJCCQ) in June 2022.
