Chicago Blackhawks prodigy Connor Bedard was fascinated by the “Windy City” after attending his new team’s development camp on Thursday.
Bedard pointed out that he particularly liked the gastronomy of metropolitan Illinois.

“The food was even better than I imagined. I knew it would be very good, but it was great. I was very surprised,” said the 2023 draft pick Thursday, whose words were picked up by NHL.com.
The Blackhawks innovated with an all-new concept this season as they held their development camp off the ice.
“It’s been a long time since I was on the ice, probably the longest time in my life that I haven’t been on a rink,” said the young man. But it’s been a good week and they have good reasons for it. I really enjoyed the week.
A first contact with the supporters
Even though no fan could see him in action during the camp, the 17-year-old young man was still able to take a first tour.
The Blackhawks contenders were able to attend a Chicago Cubs game. He also attended the ceremonial toss before the game and was able to converse with the Cubs color bearers.
“We mainly talked about the fans in the city,” said Bédard. It was great to hear from them as they’ve been in the Chicago spotlight for a while. I’ve also spoken to Cubs players and it was nice to hear how much they love the City.
Bedard said he will quickly start training again once he gets back home in British Columbia to be ready for the start of the season.
“I have to go back to work,” he said. I will do everything this summer to improve and take a step forward.
Bedard sensationalized with the Regina Pats of the Junior Western League last season, scoring 143 points in 57 games, including 71 goals.
