TORONTO, Sept. 11, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Compass Group Canada, the country’s largest foodservice company, is pleased to announce the launch of its globally celebrated annual event, Chef Appreciation Week (CAS). Chef Appreciation Week, held annually the second week of September, is a celebration of the culinary talent that drives Compass Group Canada’s success with its delicious and innovative dishes for consumers and patients across the country. This week-long event celebrates the dedication and passion of culinary professionals responsible for creating unique culinary experiences across the company’s various business units.
Our chefs are the foundation of our success and are at the heart of our culinary journey. Their exceptional talents, tireless pursuit of perfection and commitment to advancing the culinary scene deserve this recognition,” said Saajid Khan, CEO of Compass Group Canada and ESS North America. Leader Appreciation Week is a special opportunity for us to express our gratitude for their commitment and passion – qualities that continually inspire the entire team.
During Chef Appreciation Week, Compass Group Canada will be highlighting its chefs on its social media channels alongside their colleagues around the world. Additionally, guests at Compass Group locations will have the opportunity to learn more about their own chefs and sample Chef Appreciation Week participants’ favorite recipes.
“I’m thrilled to once again celebrate our incredible pool of Canadian culinary talent,” said Michelle Pereira, vice president of culinary and guest experience at Compass Group Canada. We are extremely fortunate to be able to utilize the unique skills and culinary expertise of each of our chefs. By collaborating with our outstanding culinary teams, we are able to continually improve our offering and remain at the forefront of culinary innovation.
During this week-long celebration, chefs from coast to coast were selected by their leaders and peers as Compass Group Canada’s Top 27 Chefs based on factors such as culinary expertise, creativity, leadership, teamwork and customer feedback. The selected chefs demonstrated unparalleled skill, preparing delicious dishes enjoyed by consumers in a variety of industries, including sports and entertainment centers, college and university campuses, and nursing homes and care facilities. The top three chefs will take part in a unique culinary retreat in the Niagara Escarpment, where they will meet local winemakers, distilleries, shepherds and farmers and work together to prepare gourmet-quality dishes using only ingredients that they have harvested themselves .
