Cole Hutson, Lane’s younger brother, has several goals in mind, including becoming a Torey Krug in the NHL. The younger of these two Hutsons is not very talkative, but does not hide his deep desire to be selected by the Montreal Canadiens to join his brother.
Objectively speaking, the Montreal organization already has a Hutson and offers an endless array of prospects on the blue line. Having a quarterback of that caliber to lead the massive attack is important, but having two small guards is not ideal.
No matter what the adults think thinkerCole remains convinced that he would form a very threatening pair with his older brother. Like the Sedin twins, they know each other inside out. Here’s what he recently said to Nicolas Landry (RDS).
“For me, that would be an overwhelming scenario. Lane and I obviously grew up together. On the ice, we always know what the other is going to do. When we play 5-on-5 games at home, we are dominant together. I would have a lot of fun playing with him.”
Let’s face it. If I rely on the playoffs, a brigade can’t field two defenders, let alone the same pair of 5-foot-10. Quinn Hughes is the perfect example, he who was overly bullied Preds from Nashville, which limited his effectiveness (he still collected ten assists).
One thing we have to remember about Cole Hutson is his great maturity. He is humble but confident, and he is not the type of person to show up late for an important meeting.
Here’s a video showing Cole and Lane offering a very similar style:
