Cirque du Soleil plans to move to a London theater

Cirque du Soleil is planning to move to the Saville Theater in London’s West End, the English daily has revealed The stage. It just partnered with investment firm Yoo Capital, which just acquired it.


The information was confirmed by Eric Grilly, president of Cirque du Soleil’s house shows.

The Saville Theater is part of a group of historic buildings in the West End. The theater, which enjoyed its heyday in the 1960s, hosted legendary groups such as the Bee Gees, the Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones before closing in 1970 and becoming a cinema.

This will be Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent show in England.
