The New Jersey Devils announced Friday that they have signed forward Chris Tierney, who played for the Montreal Canadiens last season, to a one-year, two-term contract.
The agreement earns him the minimum National League salary of $775,000 while playing in the American League earns him $400,000.

Tierney brought some experience to Montreal in a group hit hard by injuries in the second half of the season. The Ontario native was claimed for waivers on February 23 and scored his first goal with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge against the Philadelphia Flyers the next day.
The 29-year-old forward has 7 points in 23 games for CH. He also played 13 games for the Florida Panthers in the 2022–23 season, scoring 3 points, and an additional 20 games for the Charlotte Checkers.
During his career, the man who also defended the colors of the San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators scored 236 points in 597 games.
