Chicoutimi CLSC will be relocating to Racine Health Center

the CIUSSS acquired the building at 80 rue Racine Est. All tenants, including medical and dental clinics, must vacate by June 1stah February. Only the Uniprix pharmacy and the Caisse Desjardins of the health network will remain on site.

According to the press release published Thursday afternoon, the new premises will be more spacious and better adapted. Access to parking spaces and public transport is also made easier for users and employees.

Our priority has always been to provide accessible and quality care to our population and to maintain local services within the city center itself. Given the importance of frontline services in our health and social services network, this is excellent news for users of Chicoutimi and the surrounding area.said in a press release Julie Labbé, President and CEO of the CIUSSS.

It’s not for nothing that we’re in the lower town. We want to be more accessible to customers who may have more transportation issues or special needs. We are also near the bus stationadded in an interview Luc Tremblay, director of logistics and technical services at the CIUSSS.

The move from CLSC has been in the air ever since more than ten years. Currently the CLSC is located in the Carrefour Racine, owned by Paul Boivin’s companies. The latter is currently at odds with La Saguenay, which has filed a lawsuit against him. The city believes he failed to meet his commitments when they sold him the building, although major work, including for parking, was expected. Paul Boivin also complained. The parties will be heard by a Superior Court judge on February 6.

In March 2021, Fears had made the rounds to the extent that the CLSC would have left downtown Chicoutimi to move to the commercial sector at the corner of boulevards Talbot and du Royaume. The elected officials then confirmed that the CLSC couldn’t leave downtown.

In May 2022 it was reported CIUSSS that the non-renewed lease ended on June 30, 2023.
