“Chicago may have known things we don’t know.”

Canadian forward Kirby Dach is certainly not playing his best hockey since the start of the regular season. This was particularly evident Tuesday night against the Rangers at the Bell Center, although he did find a way to get an assist in the 7-2 loss.

However, the 2022 player signed by the Chicago Blackhawks was placed on the team’s front line for this game alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

A decision that stunned TVA Sports analyst Michel Bergeron.

“As I watched the game, I said to myself that maybe Chicago knew things we don’t know,” he analyzed in his “Without a Net” column on Wednesday.

“He seems a bit lazy to me,” he continued. He doesn’t push his skate, he’s not intense, he’s not aggressive. But we protect him, ultimately we protect everyone.”

“In this organization, everyone protects themselves,” Bergy also said. There will be no drastic decision made like we made last year when we sent (Joel) Armia to Laval.

An example for Suzuki

The Canadian’s dismal performance stood out compared to the pre-game ceremony where the organization paid tribute to former players from the great 1979 team.

“Bergy,” who knew some of the players being lauded, was particularly impressed by the way former goalie Ken Dryden, a Hall of Fame member, addressed the crowd in French.

“Nick Suzuki, the captain, should take note of this,” he advised.
