CH: three hopefuls who stay under the radar

The Canadian has filled his hopes in recent years. The names of Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, Owen Beck and Co. are well known to all. But what about those who stay under the radar?

The magazine Pool Pro has listed three hopefuls in the organization of the CH that deserve a closer look.

Luke cloth

Tuch, the Canadiens’ second-round pick of 2020, will play his fourth season in the American varsity ranks with Boston University this year.

“He’s a powerful striker who has an offensive touch and can give way to his more talented teammates. If he can emulate his brother Alex, who plays for the Sabers, he could become an important asset for CH,” notes TVA Sports analyst Alexandre Picard.

Tuch had 20 points in 40 NCAA games last season.

William Trudeau

The defender caught the eye with the Laval Rocket last season after a very interesting stint in the QMJHL.

Trudeau was drafted in the 4th round by the Canadiens in 2021 and had 27 points in 60 games in the American League last year.

“He would probably be closer to the NHL in another organization, but with the Canadiens having their hands full with promising young defensemen, he continues to develop in the shadows,” said Jonathan Bernier of the Journal de Montreal.

Adam Engstrom

The Swede led all defenders under the age of 20 in Sweden’s elite league last season with 16 points in 43 games.

3rd round choice in 2022, the rear playing in Rögle is a good size and handles the puck well.

“He’s a smart and quick defender. There will be another season with Rögle in Sweden, but he could come next year,” wrote Jean-François Chaumont of the Journal de Montréal.
