CH players are impressed by Hutson

It is not only the fans of the Montreal Canadiens who seem to have fallen under Lane Hutson’s spell, as regular players of Sainte-Flanelle would be overwhelmed by his abilities.

This was revealed by Sportsnet hockey expert Elliotte Friedman in the last edition of his podcast 32 thoughts.

“One of the players [du Canadien] sent me a message saying, “Lane Hutson will be in the running for the Calder Trophy this year.” I know it’s early, but it seems like after what this player told me, the Canadiens are saying to themselves, “Can you believe what this kid is capable of,” the journalist said.

The story does not say if the Habs player in question is Nick Suzuki, but the captain did not hesitate to praise the small defenseman during the press conference during the golf tournament.

“He reminds me a lot of Quinn Hughes,” Suzuki told reporters. The way he skates and moves on the blue line… Obviously, Quinn is a fantastic player. I’m sure Lane would like to be someone like him.

Hutson made the jump to the pros at the end of last season, played the last two games of the schedule and collected two assists for the CH.

The 20-year-old American played his last two seasons for Boston University, where he scored 30 goals and 67 assists for 97 points in 77 games.
