CH: already “a very big evolution” for Sean Farrell.

Martin St-Louis’ plan to promote young Sean Farrell is already paying off, it seems.

The CH head coach wanted to allow Farrell to watch National League games from the bridge to take full advantage of the time and space players have for their plays.

According to Renaud Lavoie, these lessons work because Farrell took it to another level in training.

“I’ll tell you something that struck me in training today: there’s already a very big development between Sean Farrell, who arrived with the Canadiens about ten days ago, and Sean Farrell today,” the TVA Sports journalist confided in his daily column JiC, Monday. Today in practice I felt safe with the puck, active. He played games. I understood why we decided to bring him [tout de suite] with the Montreal Canadiens.

According to Lavoie, a rumor also circulated that the Canadians were keeping Farrell out to avoid paying him a $25,000 bonus. It is wrong. All indications are that Farrell will be in the lineup for the Habs’ final two regular-season games.

“It’s a bonus that counts on the payroll next year, but you’re not anywhere near $25,000 one way or the other,” Lavoie clarified. Normally Farrell plays on Wednesday and probably Thursday.
