On Thursday, October 6, we hosted the final edition of our 2022 Canadian Business Leader of the Year Awards in Toronto. The goal of the event was to celebrate our winners’ business leadership and commitment to their communities, and we were proud to host such a fantastic evening with Wes Hall and Edward Sonshine.

We should came from very humble beginnings in Jamaica and is now one of Canada’s most influential businessmen. As the first black person to join CBC’s “Dragon’s Den,” he is providing equal opportunities for black entrepreneurs in Canada. He was accompanied on Thursday by his wife Christine.
Edward Sonshine, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award as a Canadian business leader
Edward Sonshine is the founder and chairman of RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust, one of Canada’s largest real estate investment trusts. In 2011, Mr. Sonshine was awarded the Order of Ontario and in 2013 was named Canada’s Outstanding CEO. He accepted his award on Thursday along with his wife, Fran.

After a spectacular performance by Dione Taylor, the guests rounded off the evening with dessert, coffee and tea.
