Canadian End of Season Report | A concussion ended Kirby Dach’s season

It was a concussion that forced Kirby Dach to miss the rest of the season.

Emptying his locker at Brossard on Friday, the young forward admitted it was a concussion he sustained in Buffalo on March 27 that forced him to miss the final 8 games of the season.

“I had some head problems, a headache that started the day after the game in Buffalo against the Sabers,” admitted Dach. But the medical staff treated me well, so I was able to train again afterwards. »

In his first season with the Canadiens, the player picked by the Chicago Blackhawks in the last draft will have 38 points in 58 games.

“I want to build on that, it’s definitely a step in the right direction,” he added. I’m very happy with how my season has gone and I think I can do even better. I’m really looking forward to the future, especially with this team… we have a good working environment here. »

Kirby Dach particularly enjoyed the evenings on the ice with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield and if he had his way he would start next season with those two in October.

“It’s fun playing with these guys… Suzuki is a fabulous player and when you look at his work ethic you understand it’s no wonder he’s that good. As for Caufield, he is one of the top scorers in this league. So it is very pleasant to play with them. »
