Canadian Alphonso Davies was injured two weeks before the World Cup

(Berlin) Almost two weeks before the start of the soccer World Cup in Qatar, the Canadian star Alphonso Davies left the FC Bayern Munich game due to injury.

The team prematurely left the victory of its 3: 2 at the expense of Herta Berlin in the 64th minutee minute of the game when he appeared to be holding the hamstring of his right leg.

Davies appeared injured as he chased Marco Richter forward and tried to regain the ball. He stopped abruptly and stood up, clutching the back of his leg. He appeared to be in pain as he left the field accompanied by members of Bayern’s medical staff.

“According to our doctors, at first glance it’s at least a muscle tear. We have to wait for further investigations,” said Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann in his press conference after the game.

The team is expected to announce more details about the injury on Sunday.

Heading into the World Championships, which begins November 23 for the Maple Leaf, Davies’ health will be a concern for Canada’s coach John Herdman.

Canada are already in the final stages of preparation and will play a pre-season game against Bahrain in Manama on November 11 before meeting Japan in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 17 – the first game in which all Canadian players participate will be World Cup in Qatar.
