COACHING. In their red uniforms with the picture of the Canadian team, the country’s best gliding instructors parade through the Memphremagog region, more precisely to Mont-Orford, this week.
The twelve members of the formation chose the Orferoise station to train as a team one last time before heading to Finland, more specifically Levi, where the Interski World Congress will take place from March 26th to 31st. This is a demonstration competition for various skiing, snowboarding and telemark techniques that takes place every four years. It includes the best instructors from 35 Nordic countries, taking the opportunity to share knowledge about teaching these sports.
This visit to Memphremagog did not go unnoticed by resort customers who got to see these athletes at work, but also by mountain managers. “We are honored to welcome this renowned Canadian team. Attending their training is always something very impressive, says Corporation Ski & Golf Mont-Orford CEO Simon Blouin. We know that their knowledge gained through this competition will help our ski school instructors to constantly improve our practices.”
There was also a familiar face among the members of the Canadian Interski team. This is Pier-Luc Grenier, a former instructor at the Mont-Orford Snow School. A total of seven Quebecers are part of this elite team, including Stéphanie Perras and Julie Sauvageau, who grew up on the slopes of the Bromont, a mountain of experience.
