There are professions similar to ours whose salaries will be higher than ours. A total of 2,000 workers in Estrie would be affected by this situation.

Ms Émond gives the example of plumbers, who are paid the same as administrative assistants. It would increase our pay scale. Currently our salary is below the poverty line and with inflation we are already walking and cycling.

Your union representative, Carole Duperré, is demanding a firm commitment on the part of the government for the Conseil du trésor to mandate the resolution of complaints. For more than 12 years, these workers have been waiting for recognition of the changes in their work and the fair value of their jobs.
