Brilliant gesture by the CHUS employees for equal pay

A total of 2,000 workers in Estrie would be affected by this situation.

Ms Émond gives the example of plumbers, who are paid the same as administrative assistants. It would increase our pay scale. Currently our salary is below the poverty line and with inflation we are already walking and cycling.

Your union representative, Carole Duperré, is demanding a firm commitment on the part of the government for the Conseil du trésor to mandate the resolution of complaints. For more than 12 years, these workers have been waiting for recognition of the changes in their work and the fair value of their jobs. It’s time to end this discrimination and comply with the Equal Pay Act.

According to the union, a turnover rate of 25% affects office and administrative workers.
