Boston is not just a sports city; it’s a championship city

The Celtics won the championship NBA last night. They did it by choosing Game 5 in front of their fans.

Will the Panthers do the same tonight in the NHL? Will we see the conclusion of a somewhat boring, uneven and one-sided finale, as was the case in the NBA? I’m afraid so…

I hate Boston teams
Have I ever told you how much I dislike the Boston area teams? I hate the Bruins, I hate the Pats, When I think of the Revolution, I am left breathless, I don’t like the Celtics and I can the best tolerate the Red Sox. Because they have a legendary hat…

But I love the city of Boston and its surroundings; I go there often in the summer. I was there in 2011 with the kids and our Canadian-colored parasol, a few weeks after their last Stanley Cup…

Why do I hate every Boston team so much? Because the Bruins have always been the Canadian’s arch-enemies… but maybe also a little out of jealousy, I must admit.

A sports city… a real
Tony Marinaro and Georges Laraque Alexandre Pratt had a debate an hour ago two three Weeks The aim was to determine whether Montreal is a sports city or not.

Alexandre Pratt praised the 1,001 Competitions/Events Sports (golf, cycling, Grand Prix, swimming, etc.) to defend his point of view Yes, Montreal was a sports city.

Tony, for his part, defended the fact that only the Canadiens and CF Montréal play in the first North American league, that CF Montréal’s budget is minimal and that the infrastructure of the CFM and Alouettes not at daily level.

You will understand if you listen to me on BPM Sports or read me here (or further) Twitter/X) that I am more on Tony’s side than on Alexandre’s on this issue.

Last night, Boston proved again that it is REALLY a sports city. There is no show The radio station out there is wondering this morning whether or not it will be broadcast in a sports city. eh eh. The debate would only last five seconds. Then it wouldn’t be necessary and we’d save the fee of a debater!

Since 2000, the city of Boston has enjoyed 13 sports championships in the four major North American circuits: two from the Celtics, one from the Bruins, four from the Red Sox and six from the Cuddles. Boston is not just a sports city, it is a sports city.

That’s two more than Los Angeles and six more than any other North American city. And that doesn’t even include the seven finals lost by those four teams, nor the three others the New England Revolution lost in the MLS Cup.

CF Montreal has never won here MLS Cupthe Canadian has not won a Stanley Cup since 1993 and the Alouettes had not won the Grey Cup in 14 years before doing so last fall.

And it’s hard for us to leave Parc Jean-Drapeau when we have an F1 race there, hehe.

Some will say that Montreal is a sports city because we have a teamUltimate Frisbeethat we have a tennis tournament, a major golf tournament and a cycling race, but Boston has the Boston Marathon, its golf tournament and its teamUltimate Frisbee. Not to mention events other than ours…

Oh yeahI was about to forget; The five big teams in the Greater Boston area never stay at the bottom of their respective leagues. They always strive for the championship, even if they don’t always succeed. We never see the Bruins, the Celtics, the Revsthe Red Sox or the Cuddles I accept mediocrity for several years. Bad seasons can happen – like Cuddles last year – but they are not common. They are not tolerated.

They represent exceptions because they confirm the rule.

Five days ago, fans in Boston had to choose between Tom Brady’s induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame, a Red Sox game, or a Celtics final game. And the Revolution played a few hours later.

Only the Bruins were completely missing from the Boston sports portrait.

We in Montreal talked about the NHL Amateur Draft that was to take place two three weeks…

By console ourselves by comparing ourselves to the city of Edmonton (which is currently still in the Stanley Cup Final).

Much

– Panthers morning practice: Tkachuk, Bennet and Ekblad are on the ice.

– Is Sam Atkinson’s adventure in Philadelphia over? #Transaction? #San Jose? #Refund?

– The Canadian risks the chance to sign Saku Koivu’s son. Should he do it?

– Jason Kelce hasn’t stopped there party.

– There would be a new fitness coach at CF Montreal.

– Unacceptable! #NonSportsTweetOfTheDay
