Blue Jays humiliated in Boston

The Toronto Blue Jays will quickly forget their visit to Fenway Park as they were swept away by the Boston Red Sox on Thursday.

Canada’s only major league baseball team suffered a 5-11 loss in today’s game. The first three games of the series also ended in victory for the Red Sox, who won 6-5, 7-6 and 8-3.

So the difficulties of the Toronto gunners continued. Beaten by opposing batsmen, Kevin Gausman (2-3) allowed 10 hits and eight earned runs in just three and a half innings.

Rafael Devers and Masataka Yoshida were the Jays’ biggest tormentors, both amassing three hits and three and four RBIs, respectively.

After a disastrous start to his game, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. nevertheless picked up where he left off, hitting a long solo ball to close the gap to 6 to 1. The son of former Montreal Expos fame added a double one-run in the fifth inning.

However, the Blue Jays couldn’t match their AL East rivals, who added two runs in the fourth and three runs in the eighth inning.

Brayan Bello (1-1) added the win to his tally.

The Blue Jays take over the collar against the surprising Pirates on Friday in Pittsburgh. However, these also just suffered a sweep by the Tampa Bay Rays.
