Canada’s Bianca Andreescu has reportedly sprained her ankle during her round of 16 match at the Miami tennis tournament, but the severity of the injury has yet to be determined.
This is what TVA Sports analyst and staffer Stephanie Myles wrote on Twitter on Wednesday morning. However, the exact diagnosis has yet to be publicly confirmed.
Andreescu found herself in the infirmary after failing to complete a trade with Russian rival Ekaterina Aleksandrova on Monday as she trailed 7-6 (0), 0-2. After leaving the field in tears, she shared a photo of herself with braces on social media.
“This is the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I pray it’s not serious. Still waiting for official results,” she wrote on Twitter.
The 31st player in the world before her bad luck was having a good time with Emma Raducanu, Maria Sakkari and Sofia Kenin in Miami.
