In a joint effort to advance development policy in Africa, the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Mr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa, and the Honorable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of International Development of Canada, today chaired the opening of a high-level meeting. Level Dialogue at African Union Headquarters.
This crucial session, which focused on such important topics as health, nutrition and gender equality, was attended by eminent figures such as: Ambassador Minata Samate . They discussed their respective institutions’ various initiatives to improve nutrition for women and girls, promote global health, support the Lusaka Agenda and strengthen gender equality.
The meeting highlighted the importance of intercontinental cooperation and the crucial role that development policy plays in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The discussions also highlighted the need for an integrative approach that takes into account the specific needs of women and girls, particularly in the areas of health and nutrition.
