Alphonso Davies: the fastest player in the world

In case you didn’t know, Canadian Alphonso Davies is fast, very fast. According to data compiled at the last UEFA Champions League presentation, the full-back is unrivaled when it comes to pace.

During this tournament, in which the best European teams take part every year, the FC Bayern Munich player reached a speed of 37.1 kilometers per hour in a group stage game against Inter Milan.

For comparison: Usain Bolt set his 100m world record at the 2009 World Championships with 44.72 km/h. It is therefore an exceptional achievement.

During the Champions League he left attackers like Mykhailo Mudryk (Chelsea) and Ousmane Dembélé (FC Barcelona) well behind with a top speed of 36.6 km/h.

Davies featured in nine of Bayern’s ten games in the competition. The German club lost in the quarter-finals to Manchester City, who eventually lifted the big-eared trophy.
