At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Kia took the opportunity to introduce it to us Kia Seltos updated for 2024. The update brings a slight exterior and interior refresh along with some new features.

Light external and internal refreshment

the 2024 Kia ​​Seltos remains clearly visible on the road. The fairing of the front part is slightly revised, as well as the grille. On the side of the headlights, their shape does not change, but the arrangement of the lamps inside the headlights is revised. In addition, the strip of light crossing the grille, present on some versions, is now placed lower. Thus, the new models will be distinguishable with this new light signature. In profile, the body line remains the same. If we go backwards, the changes are more present. The entire area between the underside of the fascia and the underside of the bumper has been redesigned. The taillights feature a new light signature, adopting a design that crosses the tailgate from side to side.

Inside, the changes are more significant. Kia has decided to add a fully digital dashboard to some versions of the new 2024 Seltos. This panoramic dashboard will include two 10.25-inch screens, one in front of the driver for the instrumentation and the other for the infotainment system. Unfortunately, the entry-level versions will not receive this innovation. In fact, the entry-level versions will come with an 8-inch screen for the infotainment system and will have a basic 4.2-inch display in the watch faces, replacing the 3.5-inch display currently offered.

Added new version and revised mechanics

Like its big brothers in the Kia family, the Seltos is also entitled to a X line version for 2024. This new version will bring some cosmetic changes such as: Features include exclusive 18-inch wheels, a black bridge-style roof rack, X-Line badging, gloss black door panels and an exclusive bronze-finish grille design.

Regarding the engines offered, the same as the 2023 model. The 146 hp 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine paired with a CVT is back for entry-level and mid-range versions. Depending on the version chosen, it will always be possible to combine this engine with all-wheel drive or traction. The 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is also back but benefits from an overhaul for the occasion. This revision allows for an increase of 20 hp, bringing power to 195 hp for the 2024 model year. Additionally, the turbocharged engine is now mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, replacing the old 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

In terms of technologies, the SX version of the Kia Seltos 2024 offers the possibility of a digital key with certain options. This allows drivers to use their compatible smart devices as virtual vehicle keys to lock, unlock and drive. In addition, these keys can be shared with other people on available devices via SMS.

The 2024 Kia ​​Seltos is expected to launch in the first half of 2023. Canadian pricing has yet to be announced. It will be known at a later date when marketing begins.
