The Integrated University Center for Health and Social Services (CIUSSS) of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean revised almost half of the medical tests that had to be revised due to irregularities in pathology and cytology reports.
Last June, the regional organization announced that 8,000 reports needed to be revised. These are tests that were analyzed between the 1st and 19th centuriesum October 2021 and May 18, 2023 in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord and Nord-Du-Québec.
Around 4,000 tests such as biopsies, surgical samples and gynecological and post-delivery exams had to be reviewed on a priority basis. So far 3789 have been renewed.
The President and CEO of CIUSSSJulie Labbé, believes that in a few months she will be able to provide more detailed information on the results of the new tests.
There were 5,000 samples that were sent outside, she explained. 3,800 have returned, there are 1,200 left on lab benches across Quebec, then there will be another 3,000 that will be redistributed.
There CEO from CIUSSS However, did not want to comment on the results of these revisions. She specified that the organization should be able to take stock of the situation in a few months.
I’ll let the medical community do their job before I have a clear idea of what lies ahead so that we can make a decision when the time comes.
repeated Mrs. Labbé.
