The Laval Rocket ended a three-game losing streak and got some revenge against the Rochester Americans with a 6-2 win at Place Bell on Friday night.
The Montreal Canadiens farm club had allowed at least four goals per game in this sequence. The “Amerks” took advantage of the opportunity and beat them 7 to 4 on January 24th.

In this lively game, the audience was treated to an excellent show. More than forty minutes of penalties were handed out and Olivier Galipeau threw down the gloves on opposing captain Michael Mersch.
The attack came via the sticks of Joshua Roy and Lias Andersson, both of whom scored their 13th goal of the season. The Swede scored twice by taking advantage of Brandon Gignac's generosity and firing the goal into an empty net. The Quebecer ended his evening of work with three assists.
The big boys responded and that also applied to defender Justin Barron, who played his best game with the Rockets. The one who started the campaign with CH collected three points and took part in the advance of Jean-François Houle's men in the first third.
Andersson shook the ropes after just 27 seconds, then it took the Americans less than two minutes to tie the score. Barron then gave his team the lead for good thanks to an excellent wrist shot.
Jakub Dobes was solid in front of goal with 24 saves on 26 shots. His opponent Dustin Tokarski had a more difficult time, giving in five times before the Rocket's 32 attempts.
Laval will face the Americans again on Saturday evening at Place Bell and will then benefit from several days off due to the break in the American League All-Star Game.
