A second Canadian goal for the Eagles

Eagles manager Matthew Rusch has formalized the return of second baseman Ethan Hunt to Trois-Rivières for the 2023 season.

The Canadian left a beautiful calling card at the end of the season last summer. In 11 games with the Birds, the Oklahoma Panhandle State University (NAIA) product had maintained an excellent batting average of .333 on 13 hits, including 4 doubles. Hunt had also driven in 4 runs, in addition to crossing home plate 5 times.

“Ethan is a quiet force for the team. As a rookie he has shown he can differentiate himself from the pros and I expect him to make big strides again this season. He has multiple skills including average hitting, power and speed on the trail. He is also able to offer solid defensive play. As a bonus, he is a very disciplined player who takes every opportunity to learn,” emphasizes the Adler manager.

Hunt’s return follows the return of outfielder Louis-Philippe Pelletier, third baseman Juan Kelly and pitcher Tucker Smith. Additionally, alongside rookies Victor Cerny (catcher) Easley, manager Matthew Rusch will be focusing on newcomers Nate Scantlin (outfielder), Nick Garcia (pitcher) and Ryan Campbell (pitcher), who are in a trade with the American Association’s Gary SouthShore RailCats were acquired De La Cruz (catcher), Tyler Clark-Chiaparelli (infielder) and Jacob Stobart (pitcher).

The Eagles’ training camp begins in late April for the franchise’s second season in the Frontier League. The first game is scheduled for May 12 when the Eagles visit the Tri-City ValleyCats. Then the home game will take place on May 23 when the Lake Erie Crushers will be visiting Quillorama Stadium.
