A man denounces the ‘inhuman’ treatment of his mother’s body, who died of CHSLD

I was told, “We could put a sheet over your mother’s body, then you could take out her furniture,” he says. I said, “No, no, it doesn’t work… It’s humanly unacceptable. My mother deserved better.”

He says he urged the management of the facility to get the doctor to proceed with the death certificate. If my mother died before midnight, why is the death still not registered after 2 or 3 p.m.? he is outraged.

Denis Charlebois wants the health network to become more human. According to him, his mother’s stay began on a difficult basis.

My mother had to be taken urgently from the hospital to be sent to a CHSLD a month and a half ago after her treatment. When I came the same day, the room was not disinfected, then it was dirty, then there were no curtains. When my mother arrived they had the curtains in place but the disinfection had not yet been donesays the one who appreciates the work of the nursing staff.

The CIUSSS MCQ explains itself

The Integrated Health and Social Services Center of the Mauricie-et-du-Centre-du-Québec (CIUSSS MCQ) states that when a death occurs in the evening or at night, the procedure is such that the doctor is not called until the next morning, to certify death in the afternoon.

the CIUSSS MCQ expressed his condolences to the family and said he was ready to answer the family’s questions. Some steps will be revised, health officials said.

In the late afternoon, on November 14, Ms Bordeleau’s death was finally registered and the body was removed from the room, according to her son Denis Charlebois.
