A former recruiter predicts that the production of young Swiss people is reaching its peak

As a guest on “The Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro,” former Ducks chief recruiter Alain Chainey, the man behind the selection of Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf, agreed to predict the performance of young Montreal Canadiens players at their peak.

“[Juraj] Slafkovsky will be a front-line player, Chainey began. We’re talking about 35 goals and 90 points one day.”

If such a prediction proves true, CH general manager Kent Hughes will look like a genius. Slafkovsky recently signed an eight-year contract with an average annual value of $7.6 million.

“Nick Suzuki, about 80 to 85 points,” Chainey continued. “I don’t know if he’s the number one centre, but he’s the number one centre for the Canadiens.”

As for Kirby Dach, the hockey player who is now an analyst for TVA Sports, he was a little hesitant.

“It’s a mystery to me,” he admitted. He has all the tools to become a second-line player and produce. Will he stay healthy?

As for Caufield, Chainey was somewhat optimistic.

“Between 35 and 40 goals,” he predicted. I don’t think he’ll reach the 50 mark.”

The expert was most impressed by Demidov.

“I think he’s going to be a star,” Chainey said, adding that he believes the Russian is the biggest talent in the organization.

As for Lane Hutson, he has laid an essential foundation for his success.

“It depends on his performance,” Chainey explained. “At his size, it’s going to be difficult for him to be successful if he doesn’t perform. If he’s able to score points, he’ll be a top-three defender.”
