Organized by the Lac Champlain Health Solidarity Cooperative in collaboration with the Henryville Regional Support Center, the FADOQ of Venise-en-Québec and the Municipality of Venise-en-Québec, the health day will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. 239 16th Avenue West.

On this occasion, participants will have the opportunity to attend various conferences and meet several exhibitors on site, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Order of Dentists of Quebec and the Association of Optometrists of Quebec. Door prizes will also be raffled off.

Hourly

A first conference will be held at 10:15 a.m. by the Sûreté du Québec. It will cover the topics of fraud, fraud and identity theft.

A second conference will follow at 11 a.m., this time moderated by the Orange Santé Clinic. It attempts to answer the questions: How can you eat well in times of inflation? and Do we really know how to read a label?

A $5 dinner will be provided to benefit the Henryville Regional Support Center. At 1 p.m., the American pharmaceutical company Abbott is offering a conference on diabetes and new technologies in this area.

The Haut-Richelieu Alzheimer Society will conclude at 1:45 p.m. with a conference on the art of demystifying Alzheimer’s and other cognitive disorders. Participants can explore a dozen kiosks on site throughout the day. Free entry and open to everyone.

Goals

“At least 200 to 250 people are expected at the first edition of Health Day,” says Nathalie Dumas, board member of the Lac Champlain Solidarity Cooperative.

If the day goes well, the organization wants to repeat the experience in subsequent years. “The goal is actually to have multiple editions of Health Day,” says Ms. Dumas.

Sponsored by Iberville MP Audrey Bogemans, the event is billed as a “one-stop shop for sharing, discovery and information.”
