“A change of air” that is worthwhile for Beaudin?

The Montreal Canadiens acquired Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Nicolas Beaudin in exchange for forward Cam Hillis on Wednesday.

And according to people at the Illinois organization, the 23-year-old Quebecer could breathe new life into his career thanks to this transaction.

“I’ve talked to people at the Blackhawks who really liked him and they think a change of scenery can do him good because he’s a guy with a good head on his shoulders and a good grasp of hockey,” said Philippe Boucher , at JiC.

“I’ve been told that Luke Richardson (the new head coach) wants big guys on defense and Beaudin doesn’t fit in with that. That doesn’t mean that a young person with his talent can’t change organizations, spend some time in Laval, find his bearings and one day return to the National League.

Why six strikers?

Another issue that prompted Boucher to react is the fact that six attackers were sent off late in Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Wild.

“I find it unacceptable to have six attackers on the ice with Hoffman behind him, he fell. Don’t make me think David Savard couldn’t have patrolled on the right and Jordan Harris on the left. We need to keep the puck in and give it to our talented players, 14th and 22nd, and let them do the work.

“Once you do that, it’s not worse, but five attackers on the power play and six attackers at the end of the game creates a negative atmosphere in the dressing room at some point.”
