RIYADH – On Sunday, Saudi Minister for Islamic Affairs, Vocation and Leadership Sheikh Dr. Abdellatif al-Acheikh, the King Fahd Mosque in Tangier, Morocco.

The Saudi minister is currently in the country at the invitation of Moroccan Habous and Islamic Affairs Minister Ahmed Toufiq.

dr Acheikh visited the mosque, which is considered one of the most important Islamic structures in Tangier, and learned about the services it offers, the stages of its construction and development, and its strategic location, which can accommodate a large number of believers.

The Saudi Minister also visited the Supreme Council of Ulemas in Tangier, where he was introduced to the institutions and informed about the work and scientific functions of the Council, as well as its main achievements and contributions.

According to Council Chairman Mohammed Kanoun, this visit underscores the strong ties between the two countries and the importance of working hard to further develop cooperation between the ulema of the two kingdoms in order to spread the true image of Islam.

On Saturday, Dr. Acheikh the Mohammed VI Institute for the training of imams, morchidins and morchidates in the Moroccan capital Rabat.

He was made by Dr. Abdelsalam Lazaar, the institute’s director, and accompanied by high-ranking officials from both ministries.

During this visit, Dr. Acheikh learned about Morocco’s experience in the training and preparation of imams, morchidins and morchidates, visited the institute’s departments and library, and learned about the history of the institute and its main achievements and services.
