The Red Bulls set their rhythm early in the game, multiplying attacks on Montreal territory. The Red Bulls’ numerous attacks were confirmed in the 23rd minute by defender Andrés Reyes’ second goal of the season.

The visitors responded six minutes later after Canada’s Joel Waterman threaded the needle for the first time this season. The BC native of Langley saved Rudy Camacho’s cross with a header.

The crowd favorites were undeterred and capitalized towards the end of the first half. Cory Burke jumped on a loose ball at the mouth of the net and that only had to defeat CF Montreal goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois.

Hernan Losada’s men will meet Forge FC again in the Canadian Championship semi-finals at the Stade Saputo on Wednesday. Inter Miami FC will visit them on Saturday.
