CN, American Union Pacific and Mexico’s Grupo México just announced a partnership that will offer a brand new intermodal service in North America.

With the creation of Falcon Premium, the three railroad companies claim to offer a seamless connection between Mexico and Canada. The new service plans to utilize the fastest travel times between Silao, Mexico and Texas, from Texas to Chicago for the Union Pacific-operated segment, and from Chicago to all CN service points in Canada.

“This innovative new service helps maximize cargo weight between Mexico and Canada to provide customers with a more efficient service. The Falcom Premium intermodal service will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thanks to a reduction in the number of kilometers traveled by rail and an increase in the substitution of road transport for rail transport,” the three partners said in a joint press release.

Falcon Premium will initially benefit customers of the intermodal service for shipping auto parts, groceries, cargo, appliances and temperature-controlled products.

“By leveraging the best services and routes from each partner, we create a transformative service. We are committed to providing this service by focusing our efforts on maximizing speed, reliability and customer satisfaction. This service exemplifies how collaboration and collaboration can improve supply chains for customers,” commented Tracy Robinson, President and CEO of CN.
