The area’s young teens enjoy year-round activities offered by the Soda (teen upside down) leisure center.

During the school year, evenings, cultural trips, participation in sports competitions and weekends are organized. During the holidays, young people are welcome and can practice different sports or participate in à la carte activities that vary from time to time.

During the holidays in October 2022, 14 teenagers aged 10 to 16 wrote, directed and edited a short film with the help of Antoine Lassort, a renowned director from Bordeaux. This project should be inclusive. Two young people from the Lussac IME took an active part in the conception of the film. Aspiring filmmakers were able to discover the behind-the-scenes steps necessary to create a film in which they were involved from writing to editing, directing and acting.

The work is entitled “The World of Tomorrow”. The young people imagined what their ideal world would look like. Initially characterized by delusions of grandeur, the decisions were absurd at first… Then responsibilities caught up with them, decisions became more reasonable. With a resolutely engaged civic character, it was decided to present it at the Festiprev festival in La Rochelle.

Among the 36 films selected (out of 200 presented), “The World of Tomorrow” will feature the Gironde with another in Lormont. The young people of Saint-Émilion will set out in May to defend their creation and their ideas at the Encan space in La Rochelle. The purpose is mainly to represent the Saint-Émilionnais region and the values of its youth towards their committed peers, locally and even internationally, since two films in the selection come from Canada and Belgium.

This project is a first step towards local politics and promotion of volunteer young people on a territorial level.
