The Toronto Raptors failed in their bid to advance to the NBA playoffs by losing their qualifier 109-105 to the Chicago Bulls at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night.
It’s a tough setback for Canada’s only Silver Tour team as they held an 18-point lead at one point in the matchup. After three quarters, the Raptors had a 36-29 best in rebounds and had a 40% save percentage on three-pointers.
However, the bulls brought their rivals down to earth with a 37-point harvest in the fourth quarter. Zach LaVine sounded the charge among the winners. He had 39 points, seven rebounds and three assists. DeMar DeRozen also damaged his old organization by accumulating 23 points.
In the Raptors camp, Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet accumulated 32 and 26 points, respectively. Quebec’s Chris Boucher spent just seven minutes on the field and failed to score.
The Bulls now face the Miami Heat in the final game of the Eastern Conference Qualifier. The winner of that game advances to the playoffs, facing the mighty Milwaukee Bucks.
