Lightning veteran and former Canadian Corey Perry lit multiple fires in a very tough game against Rangers on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old winger threw away his gloves twice, was closely involved in the sequence that sent Rangers captain Jacob Trouba to the infirmary and he also found a way to shove goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin at the end of the meeting.
All this while looking more or less innocent. It’s an art that gets lost, lamented journalist Renaud Lavoie during his column on Thursday’s JiC show.
“That’s the beauty of Corey Perry, it never seems like it was done on purpose,” he said, before specifying that Perry was definitely looking for all the problems he caused and answers he found have received.
“He always does it on purpose, to find a way to disrupt, and players like that don’t exist anymore,” underlined Renaud. He really is the last of the Mohicans. Only. Damage!”
His column also touched on the condition of Jake Allen and a rule change that could put an end to the fighting in the NHL “through the ribbon.”
