The Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada is an appellate mechanism for the national transportation sector regarding administrative actions taken by the Secretary of Transportation and the Canadian Transportation Agency under various federal transportation statutes. The court conducts review and appeal hearings at the request of those affected by these administrative decisions.
Today the Minister for Transport, the Honorable Omar Alghabra, announced the reappointment of seven Aviation Advisers to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada:
- Blaine Robert Beaven (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan): Reappointment as part-time aviation consultant for a four-year period.
- Fazal Bhimji (Delta, British Columbia): reappointed as part-time Aviation Consultant for a three-year period.
- William Raymond Cottick (Victoria, British Columbia): Reappointed as part-time Aviation Consultant for a three-year period.
- Yves Duguay (Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson, Quebec): reappointed as part-time Aviation Consultant for a period of four years.
- Deborah Warren (White Rock, British Columbia): Reappointed to a four-year term as part-time Aviation Advisor.
- Keith Boyd Whalen (Riverview, New Brunswick): Reappointed as part-time Aviation Consultant for a four-year period.
- Andrew James Wilson (Ottawa, Ontario): Reappointed as part-time Aviation Advisor for a four-year term.
The appointees come from diverse backgrounds with experience in many fields and are active members of their communities. They bring extensive expertise and knowledge to their positions in the transport sector.
These appointments follow an open, transparent, and merit-based selection process established by the Government of Canada for appointment to the Board of Governors. This process aims for gender parity and seeks to accommodate Canada’s diversity.
