In acquiring the Ottawa Senators, popular actor Ryan Reynolds continued his seduction operation in the Canadian capital by paying a visit to the city’s Mayor, Mark Sutcliffe.
Getting into the comedy game, the chosen one posted a humorous message on Twitter claiming he had given the Vancouver native a job.
“We hired a new receptionist today, but it didn’t work out. He spent too much time taking “selfies.” Good luck with your plans,” Mr Sutcliffe wrote.
Reynolds is among the finalists to take over the National Hockey League (NHL) team from the federal capital. To improve his chances as an owner, he joined forces with the Remington Group, a powerful Ontario real estate company, last February.
The Canadian actor was also present at Thursday night’s Senators’ meeting against the Philadelphia Flyers. The 46-year-old attended a game of coach DJ Smith’s team for the second time this season.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman welcomed the rector’s visit to Ottawa.
“Ryan felt it was important to connect with a partner who was a good match for him. I respect his view of the process. He wants to follow him from start to finish,” said the leader, whose comments were reported by the Sportsnet network on Thursday.
