Emil Heineman seems to have had no trouble adapting to North American ice rinks. He scored twice to lead the Laval Rocket to a 6-3 win over the Manitoba Moose at Canada Life Center on Tuesday.
After completing his season with Leksands IF in the Swedish Premier League, whoever won the transaction sending Tyler Toffoli to the Calgary Flames quickly took his place in the Laval team.
His two Match of the Day successes brought him four goals in as many professional games in North America.
Each time, the Finnish winger scored in the enclave, well positioned in front of Oskari Salminen’s cage.
Rocket’s second goalscorer, Joel Teasdale, also threaded the needle twice and notably scored the first goal of the game. He has 23 goals in 52 duels this season.
Pierrick Dubé and Jan Mysak completed an empty goal for Jean-François Houle’s men.
Jansen Harkins, Tyler Boland and Parker Ford provided the Moose replica.
With their second straight win, the Rocket temporarily overtook the Cleveland Monsters for fifth place in the North Division. The latter, however, have three games against the Montreal Canadiens school club in hand.
The Rocket can count on the services of Cayden Primeau, who was demoted Tuesday night, when he attends the Rockford IceHogs on Friday.
