The Montreal Canadiens recalled goaltender Cayden Primeau from Laval Rocket on Monday.
The 23-year-old athlete is joining Sainte-Flanelle in Philadelphia, where she will face the Flyers on Tuesday night. He will also get the start against the Pennsylvania formation.
Head coach Martin St-Louis made the announcement following his team’s 4-3 win over the Sabers in Buffalo on Monday night.
“Every day there are players who need to be judged. He was here a few months ago but he had missed a lot of time and we didn’t think it was a good situation to give him a game. Now he’s ready for a game and we’ll give it to him tomorrow [mardi]’ explained the driver of the Bleu Blanc Rouge.
Primeau has played 19 games in the National Hockey League in his career, having seen action in a game with the Habs in 2022-2023. On January 19, he came to relief in a game against the Florida Panthers, allowing one goal on seven shots in a 6-2 loss.
At the American League’s Rocket this season, the American had a 14-14-6 record, a .906 save percentage and a 3.13 goals-against-cleans average in 35 games this season.
Primeau was a seventh-round pick (199th overall) of the CH in the 2017 draft.
