Sam Burns and Cameron Young compete at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open

(TORONTO, March 27) – Golf Canada, in partnership with title sponsor RBC, is pleased to announce that Sam Burns and Cameron Young have signed to play competitively at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open.

The tournament that marked the 112the The 6th edition of Canada’s National Men’s Open Golf Championship will be held June 6-11 at Toronto’s Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

Burns and Young faced off in the finals of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship Match Play when Burns defeated Young to earn his fifth PGA Tour win of his career. The 26-year-old golfer is now at 10e Ranked in the world after winning three PGA TOUR titles in the last 12 months. Burns from Shreveport, Louisiana is 8 years olde in the race for the FedEx Cup.

Young, meanwhile, continues his remarkable early career efforts on the PGA Tour. Finishing second in the championship in match play put him in his sixth career final. Young, from Scarborough, New York, is the PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year, finishing 14the in the world.

Burns and Young, who were both part of the US Presidents Cup winning team, joined the impressive roster of RBC ambassadors last November.

Attracting elite golfers from around the world, the RBC Canadian Open is one of the most eagerly awaited tournaments on the PGA TOUR calendar. With a rich history dating back to 1904, some of golf’s biggest names have celebrated victories here, including Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and runner-up Rory McIlroy.

Additional players will be announced in the coming weeks as tournament week approaches. Golfers have until 5pm on June 2nd to confirm their attendance.
